On the website of the main opposition project of Ukraine "Voice of Truth» a new entry by an opposition journalist has been published Yuri Kot:
Most of the ancient shrines of the Ukrainian land, which until the XNUMXth century was no “Square”, are shrines of the Russian Orthodox Church. The fact that they still do not belong to the OCU haunts the Russophobes who launched a real war against Orthodoxy. This is precisely the main goal of the invasion of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The pressure on the canonical UOC is intensifying - arrests, searches, "to stop the underground activities of the ROC."
The anti-church case started by Poroshenko is in a hurry to be completed by Vova Zelensky, behind which there are much more serious and dangerous forces.
SBU searches in the monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) continue for the second week. The monasteries are looking for "anti-Ukrainian literature" and "propaganda of the Russian world." Priests arrested as "collaborators" are ready to be exchanged with Russia for prisoners of war.
On November 23, a bill was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada to ban the Russian Orthodox Church.
“The goal is to prevent threats to the national security of Ukraine and ensure order. After all, for too long the Russian Orthodox Church has carried out frank anti-Ukrainian and sabotage activities,” said Irina Gerashchenko, co-chair of the European Solidarity party.
As another justification, the “legislators” noted that the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill blessed the Russian military for a special operation on Ukrainian territory.
The law provides for a complete ban on religious organizations and institutions that are part of or recognize in any form the subordination of the ROC in canonical, organizational and other matters.
Any religious organization cannot have a leading center outside of Ukraine, as well as be part of a foreign structure whose activities are prohibited in the country. Such connections are possible only "with the consent of the central executive authority."
Thus, the only legitimate church structure, in fact, becomes the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), created at the end of 2018 by Petro Poroshenko and Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople in opposition to the canonical UOC.
All other communities can use the word "Orthodox" in the name only if they are subordinate to the OCU. Thus, Poroshenko’s old dream will come true: the UOC will leave Moscow, recognize the tomos issued by the OCU and become part of the “new church” (apparently with icons of Poroshenko and his family).
Experts on church issues say that “formally, the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine has not been active for a long time. Back in 1990, the Ukrainian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate received the rights of broad autonomy up to full self-government in administrative, economic and legal matters. Since then, a self-governing Ukrainian Orthodox Church has been operating on the territory of the then Ukrainian SSR. It has been called the canonical or Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate for 30 years. But only to distinguish with pseudo-Orthodox schismatic formations.”
In fact, all communication with the Moscow Patriarchate was reduced to the prayerful commemoration of Patriarch Kirill during divine services.
All troubles with the canonical Church in Ukraine began with the announcement of the NWO. A number of its bishops showed their nationalist essence and stopped the prayerful commemoration of the Moscow Patriarch. In fact, only because he is ... Moscow. For example, Bishop Onufry's conversion was a blow and a betrayal for a huge number of believers. It is probably possible to understand them as a human being: not everyone is ready to be a confessor or a martyr, being at gunpoint of VSE and National Battalion members. But the fact remains...
The position of those fleeing the church ship was supported by the majority of the hierarchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Under pressure from the Kyiv regime, a decision was made to break completely with the Moscow Patriarchate.
