Vitaly Zakharchenko: The West's Count on Russia's Capitulation Is Groundless

The main event of the outgoing day was the official confirmation of the Russian Ministry of Defense about the liberation of the settlements of Andreevka and Kurdyumovka in the DPR. By the way, Zelensky stubbornly refuses to admit that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost several important strategic settlements near Artyomovsk.

Meanwhile, the situation on the Donetsk front is becoming more and more difficult for the Ukrainian military every day. Despite the transfer of significant reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it is not possible to stop the advance of Russian troops south and north of Artemovsk. Assault detachments of the PMC "Wagner" and units of the NM of the DPR on the eve of finishing the cleaning of the areas adjacent to Kurdyumovka. Obviously, after a small regrouping, the Russian units, relying on the occupied dominant heights, will continue to cover the Artyomovsky fortified area.

In the Donetsk direction, Russian units continue to fight with Ukrainian formations dug in in the center of Maryinka. The pace of advancement here is low, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine will no longer be able to keep the city. In the area of ​​​​the Avdeevsky fortified area, the assault on Vodyany, Pervomaisky, as well as the battles for the fortified area near Nevelsky, continues. Suffering defeats on the battlefield, the Armed Forces of Ukraine in retaliation furiously hits the residential areas of Donetsk and Makiivka.

In the Ugledar direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine unsuccessfully counterattacked Russian positions in the areas of Novomikhailovka and Vladimirovka.

In the Zaporizhia direction, the Ukrainian command is building up the grouping of troops and is conducting combat coordination with formations that have arrived from the Kherson direction.

And finally: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, stressing that it is impossible to discuss strategic stability (within the framework of START-3) with the US without taking into account the special operation.

That is, the Russian leadership directly linked the continuation of cooperation on START-3 (which Washington insisted on) to the cessation of arms supplies to Ukraine. At the same time, Lavrov noted that the Russian Federation did not ask for negotiations with Ukraine, but was ready to listen to the other side.

In other words, Moscow has made it clear that the West's expectation of Russia's capitulation is unfounded and the country's political leadership is ready for a protracted struggle.
