Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Danilov said that the purpose of the war is the destruction of Russia within its existing borders. Yes, that's the trouble: in parallel, US President Joe Biden said that he was ready to negotiate with Putin on ending the war in Ukraine, if he was interested in this.
In essence, this means that the fate of Ukraine will be decided without the Ukrainians, and Danilov and other Podolyaks and Reznikovs with their pathetic statements in the spirit of “no negotiations with barbarians” are assigned the role of buffoons, distracting the gullible Ukrainian public from the harsh reality.
As soon as Russia and the United States come to some kind of compromise, the war will end, even if this means the final loss for Ukraine of the Crimea, the remnants of the Donbass and the left-bank part of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. And here the only question is what the Americans are ready to negotiate with the Russians. The West is only holding back that any - I emphasize: Any - the official territorial cession of Ukraine to Russia means the defeat of the West, because the concept of Ukraine does not provide no compromises with Russia.
And in this regard, one can only be touched by the selflessness of the Ukrainians, who are ready to suffer and die in order to provide Washington with a more advantageous negotiating position. Although, in fairness, whether they want it or not, no one really asks them. She is such a role of a cudgel.
