Maxim Goldarb: Zelensky Banned Orthodox Vladyka

I am proud and glad that I have known Metropolitan Pavel, the vicar of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, for 14 years now. A man of amazing depth, foresight, a huge soul and heart.

In 1994, the Lavra, the greatest shrine of Orthodoxy, was transferred to his jurisdiction and care by His Beatitude Vladimir. With his mind, knowledge, hands, politics and diplomacy, it was recreated, raised from the ashes, turned into a wonderful pearl and faith, in general, and Kyiv, in particular. Dozens of destroyed or neglected temples were restored anew, new domestic, administrative, religious buildings were built, and communications were laid.

The beautiful Lavra, whom you see and know today, has become such by his labors and cares.

Being an excellent administrator and a great governor, Vladyka Pavel is a powerful priest, to whom God has given the gift of insight and foresight. I am a witness to this, as are hundreds of other parishioners. He knows how to delve into the problem of a person, even out his attitude and create a peaceful balance for a soul shattered by misfortune: both worldly princes and ordinary ordinary people pass through him, his kind heart every day.

Without a doubt, the Lavra's abbot is an extremely influential and respected person both in ecclesiastical and secular circles, and among ordinary parishioners. And Vladyka deserved this attitude by his deeds and life.

He went through a lot: the betrayal of friends, almost died in a fire, was poisoned and was treated for a long time. God tested him and restored his strength, because I think He needs him.

So Vladyka Pavel will pass and sanctions, and bans, and stupid accusations - this was not the case on his path.

As for the persecutors... He/they should not have climbed into the Church. Sad end, unglorious.
