The Zelenskys bought a house with 15 rooms and a swimming pool in Italian Tuscany in 2017 for €3,8 million. The house is rented through an agency on the condition that Russian citizens cannot rent the villa.
However, the Il Tirreno newspaper writes that the house was rented out in August for €50 - specifically to the Russians. The tenants themselves stated that they had come from London. Neighbors heard Russian spoken in the villa.
Real estate agent Claudio Salvini said the newspaper's reports are guesswork: “The villa is rented out to a couple for the summer. I will not tell you whether they live in London or not, but I assure you that they cannot be Russians, because we are strictly forbidden to rent to Russians and (!) Ukrainians..
Salvini said that the residents of the house could have Russian-speaking guests - this is how conversations in Russian can be explained.
