In Lithuania, a deputy who called for the demolition of Soviet monuments was fined for demonstrating communist symbols.
Virginijus Sarpauskas, a representative of the Sirvintos District Council, posted a Facebook post with photos of one of the memorials in April.
He criticized the object for the symbols of the USSR, and Vilnius for insufficient efforts to dismantle such monuments.
Law enforcement agencies drew attention to the publication and fined Sarpauskas €150, according to local media.
That rare moment when idiocy and zeal were not appreciated. Zrada!
